This Year’s “Weed Bowl” Has “Higher” Stakes than your “NORML” Super Bowl
This year’s Super Bowl is the game that has been anxiously awaited by marijuana enthusiasts everywhere. For the first time in history, two NFL teams, from the two only marijuana-legal states, go head-to-head for perhaps, the most coincidental super-bowl ever. This could potentially be a huge stepping stone for the future of medicinal marijuana and its growing popularity.
According to CBS, the marijuana reform chapters of NORML (National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws) from both Colorado and Washington, have agreed to a “cannabis-based bet to highlight the upcoming Super Bowl.” Should the Denver Broncos win, Washington NORML agreed to dress in Broncos’ blue and orange, and sing John Denver’s “Rocky Mountain High,” karaoke style. However, if the high and mighty ‘Hawks win, Colorado NORML will be required to sing “Purple Haze” by the great Jimi Hendrix, while dressed in the Seahawks blue and green. With medical marijuana gaining such a large audience through the NFL ‘network’ or fan base, it will likely catalyze the already meteoric growth of the medical marijuana industry.
This year’s cannabis-friendly dual between the ‘Legal Eagles’ and the ‘Mile High’ Broncos, can raise quite a large appetite amongst its supporters. So, for all of you fans out there with the munchies, the Huffington Post has you covered. They’ve released a rather appetizing menu on all kinds of herbal goodies you can make for that perfect Super Bowl snack and link to exactly where you can get them. Featured here is OrganiCann’s herbal chocolate ice cream.
The Super cities of Denver and Seattle have more than accepted this year’s pot-happy matchup. So much that they have named marijuana strands in honor of the popular players on the competing teams. To go along with the names, each strand has different ‘statistics’ that relate to how they perform. According to the Seattle Times, the Seattle-based, Queen Anne Cannabis Club, offers a special strand called “Beast Mode,” which shares a well-known nickname with Seattle half-back, Marshawn Lynch. This strand got its name from its tendency to start slow and steady and then shift into overdrive.
In celebration of this historic event, ‘Smoke-A-Bowl’ tee shirts and stickers have been produced for individual sale. In which, all benefits and proceedings go to NORML to help spread the use of medicinal and recreation marijuana. This year’s Super Bowl will surely not disappoint, in conventional terms of the game. Having said that, we at the Review anticipate this year’s pot-friendly Super Bowl will be the first of many to come.
Predictions:
Seahawks win by 4 points.
Seattle out-medicates Denver in the hippiest celebration riot ever witnessed.
Too funny, can’t wait to see what happens.
Pretty lame game, the blog was worth the read! Too funny that the two super bowl teams ended up being Denver and Seattle. Let’s hope in the future all the super bowl teams will be from a legal state!
