DAFT PUNK - Random Access Memories

I love this album. Can't get enough of it. I think my favorite track is Lose Yourself To Dance. I literally can't help myself when I hear it, I have to dance to it.

Hell yes! I was hoping to see this thread in here. As you can tell by my avatar I'm a big fan myself I "Got Lucky" enough to see them at Coachella '06 and then again during the Alive 2007 tour. Best shows of my life, and I've been to a lot of shows.

Compared to previous albums what would your rate this as?

It's kind of hard to compare, it's so different from the others. I'd give it a 9/10 on its own (the album kind of drags through slower songs) and say it's either their best or 2nd best after Discovery.

BEST. Hands Down. Discovery is a classic and Live really captures their maturation up to that point, but RAM just grooves in a way that feels more universal, less straight EDM. It's a disco+dance+lounge+indie concoction that just DEFIES description. I will agree that there is some soupiness during the slow songs, but it makes the triumphant ending with "Doin' It Right" into "Contact" feel so epic and well-earned.
