Sometimes (or maybe more often than not?) all you want to do when you get home from a long day of work is plop yourself down on the couch, kick your feet up, turn on the TV and get completely baked out of your mind.
I like to call these “decompression sessions,” and consider them crucial parts of the day. Getting lit and vegging out in the comfort and sanctity of your own sofa helps you to feel relaxed and at ease, which in turn allows your brain to wander and reflect (or just completely zone out).
While this is a great way to unwind after a hectic day, it can also make you feel like a complete waste of space when you finally snap out of your vacant haze and realize that you’ve been watching an Alaskan Bush People marathon for the past three hours.
Sure, getting high and doing nothing can be pretty freaking awesome (at times), but if you really want to get those endorphins flowing, we recommend moving your sessions to the great outdoors. Here are some reasons why we think blasting off with Mother Nature truly enhances your overall experience.
1) Expect the Unexpected
When you’re outdoors, anything can happen. Random encounters, impromptu adventures and unforeseen excitement are all waiting for you just beyond your door step. You never really know who you’ll end up running into, or what sort of situation you might find yourself in.
Sure, sometimes wizards show up right at your front door with treasure maps and dwarfs, but it’s pretty safe to say that the only unexpected visit you’ll get while vaping on your sectional is from the Dominos guy, after you get so baked that you forgot you even ordered a pizza. Hopefully you at least had the foresight to order wings as well.
2) A Simpler Time
Technology is great and all, but it also contributes in a major way to the daily stress we feel in our lives. You’ll be amazed at how quickly the anxieties and problems bogging you down fade away once you ditch your smartphone and take a walk off the grid. Give your eyes a break from the constant glow of a screen, and give your index finger a rest from swiping and scrolling.
Take a puff, and just give yourself some time to exist without feeling obligated to answer texts, work emails or Bumble messages. Don’t worry, all it will all be waiting for you when you get back ; D
3) Feel That?
While I don’t know the scientific reason behind it (or if there even is one), I do know that when you toke outside, you get this certain feeling that you simply don’t get from anything else. It just feels right - like you’re all of a sudden are on the same wavelength as the sun, wind and trees.
Tune out all the bullshit, and take in all of the splendor around you. Vibe with the natural world. Listen to the birds. Run your hand through the blades of grass. Get back to your roots. There’s honestly no better feeling. You can’t explain it, but you also can’t ignore it.
We recommend pairing your outdoor adventures with the Summit portable vaporizer from Vapium.
